Stewardship is a way of life rooted in our relationship with Jesus Christ. Our acknowledgement of Jesus' love for us affects how we approach everything in our lives. We offer worship with love and reverence, we receive the sacraments with joy and gratitude, we give of our time in prayer and service, and we share the love of Jesus with all and invite them to join in our celebration of the Eucharist. When we recognize that everything we have is a gift from God, we offer all that we can back to God.
In the 1992 pastoral leter, Stewardship: A Disciples Response, the U.S. Bishops defined a Christian steward as "one who receives God's gifts gratefully, cherishes and tends them in a responsible and accountable manner, shares them in justice and love with others, and returns them with increase to the Lord." In the context of a total commitment to Stewardship, giving to the Church should be PLANNED, PROPORTIONATE, and SACRIFICIAL. All Christian stewards must prayerfully consider the gifts they have received from God, and they should make a decision (in advanc from the "first fruits" instead of what is left over) about what will be given.
Electronic Giving Makes Stewardship Easy!
We are pleased to offer our parishioners the convenience of making their regular weekly church offerings, as well as Holy Day Special Collection, and Archdiocesan collection offerings, via electronic transfer using the Automated Clearing House (ACH). When you sign up for Electronic Giving you authorize St. Teresa of Avila Parish to debit your offerings from your checking account. This eliminates the need for you to write checks for each donation and ensures that you are supporting the Church when you are away due to illness or vacation.
To sign up for Electronic Giving, simply click on the Electronic Giving Authorization Agreement link below, complete the form and return it, along with a voided blank check from your bank account to the Parish Office. Electronic Giving Forms are also available in the vestibule of the church. Please be assured that all information regarding your automatic electronic giving withdrawals from your bank account will be kept confidential. Once we receive your completed Authorization Agreement for Electronic Giving, your bank will begin deducting the amount you designate from your checking account beginning on the first Monday of the following month. You may adjust your Electronic Giving contributions or terminate them at any time by notifying the Parish Office. If you have any questions, please contact the Parish Office.
